In all honesty, if outdoor retreat, jungle adventure and snowy escape were all rolled up into one 40 or even 50 dollar expansion pack, LGR would end up with the most positive review since the sims 3 days

I'm so happy because I just got all the sims 4 dlc's so now I am binge watching your videos teehee

There are even no new skills.... I won't buy it, 100 % sure.

I really wish they had returned to the China-inspired / Forbidden City world of the Sims 3. It was much more impressive and inspiring.

Please somebody who has bought this pack, there is a sale that ends in 2 days and I’m debating whether to get it. I can get it for £24 and I am IN LOVE with the whole Japanese culture and I love the look of the cas and build/buy. I’m not sure whether to get it but I really think this is a pack that I would love.

As a weeb, I enjoyed it. It's not the best pack, but it's not one I regret having, either. The Build Mode objects are the main draw (kotatsu table in particular), and there's a few trad Japanese CAS items that are fun (kimonos, school uniforms, etc). I think you'll enjoy the Japanese neighbourhoods, too. The new skills aren't great; in fact, I don't think I've used any of them yet. They aren't integrated into the rest of the game and aside from maybe RP, there's no real reason to learn snowboarding, skiing, or whatever. The Festivals, as LGR says, are one and done affairs. And the Lifestyles are actually _really bad,_ ymmv but I had to disable them entirely, as they were causing serious issues, some of which could only be fixed through cheat mods and character editing. But.. if you like the look of the CAS and Build stuff, to the point where you'd seriously consider buying the pack on discount for those alone? Then yeah, will probably be worth it for you. Just don't expect much beyond the CAS and Build.

If you love the Japanese culture, this pack is worth it.

All these chairs yet I still struggle to find nice ones that match my dining room table.

I remember a time when sims expansions were a time of joy and new fun things. Sims 4 hasn’t once made me think “oh that’s a cool thing to add” whereas basically every sims 3 expansion did.

He's already stated on reddit that going forward that he'll only be doing reviews for Expansion Packs. No more reviews for Game Packs and Stuff Packs.

He refused to review Journey To Batuu and Paranormal Stuff so far. Wow Sims 4 is sure going downhill for LGR to not touch it.

I genuinely wait to buy a Sims pack if he's going to do a review for it. I know how disappointing the Sims 4 has been for him... And honestly all of us. 😅 But hopefully he's tempted to try this one since chatter is saying it may be worth it. 🤞🏼

this is always so helpful though cuz when i want to buy a new pack i always watch LGRs videos to see which 1s are the best, also thank you for being honest it helps me out a lot xD! none of these videos where people pretend to like the packs just cuz EA gifts them to them for free

All of these comments make me embarrassed to be part of the sims community. You’re all spoilt, greedy children who would still find something to complain about, even if all of these packs were made into one. On a side night, for the love of god let the sims 3 go already... if you love the sims 3 so much, go FUCKING DOWNLOAD IT AND PLAY IT. No one is stopping you. If it’s so great go download it. This is nothing to do with LGR though, I love his videos and they’re critical without ever being childish and bratty.

I feel like you can’t really do a rags to riches with this pack, it’s just skills to level up... I love the design and world but it just needed that extra way to make money that every single other pack pretty much gives which makes the gameplay more fun...

Love sims 4 but sims 3 is first one I played so it's my favorite.

It’s the real life equivalent of ‘I wouldn’t do this if you paid me!’ Would he earn money from making a Journey to Disneyland review? Yeah Is he willing to spend a few hours filming the game so he can make a video? Hell N O

I waited till it was 50% off. It’s definitely not worth the full price. There isn’t enough dept when it comes to gameplay just like 90% of the game.

I really hope that Sims 5 will bring back the open-world that I grew to love in 3, despite the awful optimization it had when you played on a save for too long. i get why the removed it, But back The Sims 3 was stuck to a 32bit executable and not every desktop user had a decent multi-core/threaded CPU to help counter it. But it's 2021 now. a majority of players are now on 64bit, multi-core system with at least 8GB of ram and even an SSD. It'd be 100% doable now and we wouldn't have to sacrifice anything. i love 4's art-style and vastly improved social interactions and i would love to see that but in 3's large-interactive world space. As it stands now i hate having to load individual neighborhoods and individual lots. It completely ruins the experience knowing that i can't explore nearly as much as i would like to.

But there are times when a gamer truly risks something, and that is in the discovery and defense of the *new* . The world is often unkind to new talent, new creations. The new needs friends. Last night, I experienced something new: an extraordinary pack from a singularly unexpected source. To say that both the pack and its maker have challenged my preconceptions about fine video game design is a gross understatement. They have rocked me to my core. In the past, I have made no secret of my disdain for EA's work. But I realize, only now do I truly understand what they're able to do. It is difficult to imagine more good work from EA, in this gamer's opinion, however I believe it would be fair to give them another chance. I will be returning to The Sims 4 soon, ready for more.

3:30 - way to be culturally sensitive there, Eduardo! This pack seems like ALLthe winter content that could have gone into Seasons to make it less boring...
