10:16 WAIT A MINUTE..... didnt they use those lion head tiles in DOOM? How ironic that Bethesda now makes the DOOM games!!
Damn. I miss the booty calls from Urethra Scrotum VII. Nostalgia.
I need to try this again on the website, I tried starting ca. 10 times and got pretty far, but something always glitched, and I never finished it. But I love it!
I still can't believe that they just put the original game and a copy of DOSbox in The Elder Scrolls Anthology...
Make a vid of Daggerfall Unity
You can climb ladders in this game?? You can't even do that in Skyrim!
anyone else watching this on a friday night?
If they used the random generation technology we have today for games like Minecraft, No Man's Sky, and Elite Dangerous, then they could make an amazing fantasy RPG experience! We do need a main plot that's epic, and at least a few hand crafted side quests that are interesting, but the rest could be just handled by an algorithm. Including features in the background to make the world feel dynamic like regions being conquered by other regions or new leaders taking over after ones fall off can not only make a world that never feels the same each time you play, but one that genuinely feels alive, with you participating in it.
It's funny during that 90's period games using real actors. I think they really thought it was gonna be something big in the future. Don't remember how many hours i play this game but it's in the 100's.
it was so overwhelming in the beginning
Epic NPC man
Wow that game box is superb. Wish big box pc games never subsided to digital.
I wish they'd remake Daggerfall using the same technology they used to make Skyrim!
Daggerfall unity is really fun. It got me to play it a lot
this is the edgiest LGR video of all time
I had never heard of the Elder Scrolls until Oblivion
It's just outdated to me, Morrowind is hard to get into
I picture the comic book store guy from the Simpsons when I watch your reviews.
Daggerfall is still fun to adventure in even today in the Elder Scrolls Online! I like its traditional fantasy "look."
Still prefer Ultima IX: Ascension.
Ty for share , greets ReRiX
If the game wasn't so clunky and unintuitive. I'd play it for more than 3 minutes before giving up. Seriously its horrible. Say what you will about later TES but at least they're playable.
wait?? this game came on DOS? wauu now i can play this using dosbox on my android tablet
You get Arena and Daggerfall for free with your purchase of DOOM or Wolfenstein 3D on GOG... For whatever reason.

You do that if you buy any Bethesda owned game. I got mine from buying Fallout.
The Box is really magnificent i want it.
I miss my dark elf war hammer wielding Angel of death. 😭
I saw where your cursor ended up at the end of the video.
I'm tempted but afraid to play this game
you should review dagger fall unity that would be sick
10:16 i have seen that lion face in another game before...
Bethesda should be ridiculed, not gloriously memed for their bugs. I will never give them praise for the fact that as time has gone by, each subsequent Elder Scrolls game has become infinitely more bug filled but far fewer bugs have actually been addressed by Bethesda, instead leaving it to modders to fix. Free labour I guess.
Playing this game is like sentencing yourseøf to six months of total isolation.
"Like s horny dog, this needs fixin' ! " Clint, you crack me up. :D
It looks so terrible I get headache just from this review. It looked atrocioius even in '96.
100$ really isnt much, compared to how much todays Games cost on Release.
“Mummy just died” Me: “Noooooo!”
Imagine if you could still find people still doing let's plays on games like this. The golden era of video games
I gotta say I'm glad for the mods making it ACTUALLY playable but the bugs still in them.. Daggerfall still needs some more shaping, at least it's happening now..
Back then developers still took risks and did what they want with all the nudity and stuff. Today eveything is PC and lame. But the pearl clutchers went from the xtian fundies to these new assholes on the left.
There’s something very charming about the early elder scrolls games. I vastly prefer them to everything post- and including morrowind. To me they always felt like tedious busywork and very unimmersive
LGR, I wanns thank you for all these videos you make/made. This video has been in the back of my mind for a while now. And Only recently did I think to myself "I should try Daggerfall." I downloaded it today and its so fricking fun I love it! Thank you LGR for gettung me into retro PC gaming! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
MtMtE's Tailgate: ...90 pages?
emperor urethra scrotum
I came here from the doomers Friday night video.
Retrowaretv, that's a name I haven't heard in a long time.
Great box art
4:10 It's Yuri from Red Alert haha
Wonderful VO
My fondest memory of this game is being hired by king what's-his-face to get a ring back from a pawn shop. I got the ring and went back to the city, but it was at night so I was shot with a poison dart. I made it into the castle, delivered the ring, and promptly dropped dead in front of the king. I hadn't saved.
Oh! It’s beautiful.
Yep was amazing.
beyonce adamlz radioactive worldwar2 laurynhill sbnation ciara
15000 towns?!? holy shit this games map is bigger than my state... by a lot
I wish they port these games to mobile or something. Just like FF7, I can't play these games at pc because of gameplay but I still want to enjoy the experience. I heard so many great things about FF7 but I'm skeptical on playing it on my Playstation. But once I downloaded the mobile port let's just say I'm not seen around for 2 weeks.
I played it one winter, I remember even now how the game, especially in dungeons, gave me true motion sickness. I could play dungeon for only few hours before literally getting nausea! Only game to do so (thou I don't play 3d games much)
"the emporor called you because apparently you and him are tight, but its not a booty call" apparently you werent tight enough
The first pc game i ever bought and loved it
Oh damn i had no idea it was free
This video is what got me into Daggerfall! Its now my favorite TES game :)
Flail away my friend, thanks to the dragon ball franchise I'm just a wish away.
This would have been a good Sega Saturn game.
"Other than everything being the same, everything is different." 😀
Came here because of the Doomer vid now I’m hooked
All your Bethesda belongs to Microsoft.
And now, Dagerfall Unity is out for a much smoother gameplay experience.
You should update the video talking about the new Daggerfall Unity! :D
I had an issue of GamesMaster magazine with a review for Daggerfall and it was such a glowing review that I kept reading it over and over again imagining the game. I didn't have PC and I never played the game. I just remembered it and found this video. First time I've actually seen the game running and it's even better than I imagined it 24 years ago.
I wish I could decorate my house with the same feeling the box art aesthetic gives me
It's a fantasy version of "Hungry Hungry Hippos".
Daggerfall = freedom.
Someone should port Ultima Underworld to this framerate and add standard WASD w/ mouse controls.
now that daggerfall has been remade in Uity it is my favorit tes game.
Cat: looks at me Me: *Interaction is now in dialogue mode*
"No mature content" Right you are Clint =)
I have such fond memories of that game. I still remember the tention I felt when hearing "Vengeaaance" for the first time in the middle of the night.
God that box truly looks amazing. I'm not a big Elder Scrolls fan but I'd totally buy it if I will ever come across one
This is the kind of game I couldn't be bothered to play now but I would have been OBSESSED with had I played it when it came out.
I'm kinda surprised they havent remade the old games by now. Unrelated: I miss the large open world and long highways of TD:U. The Forza Horizon series is nice but cant compare in terms of total highway.
I played this game in DOS its very prmintive but remember it.
The cover art looks like the album art to an '80's metal album! It puts me in mind of Iron Maiden or Megadeth.
We need this remastered.
do you need dos box to play the version from the elder scrolls site?
Daggerfall with the box now sells for $300 on Amazon or $400 on Ebay
Daggerfall Unity and D.R.E.A.M are also really good mods to run
perfect game for the phone
You can climb a mountain in this one
Watching your videos for the first time 6 years later wishing I could play this game again and about to start looking online for a cheap coupon... Then you said '...its still worth checking out...' and then '...you can download the game for FREE' Holy shit, thank you.
The Daggerfall Unity overhaul makes this game amazing!
The live action intro was pretty cool imo
in case you want to play it, find daggerfall unity. it's a complete overhaul that makes the game much more approachable.
Awesome!!!
Hi LGR. Can you make an update of this video reviewing the Daggerfall Unity version? I played it and I think is awesome.
it's 2020 now, so everyone try out Daggerfall Unity. which allows for mods!
LGR, will you ever do a video on Daggerfall Unity?
I love that box art
3:24 - "Finally the world will know the might of the axe-wielding, back-stabbing harpies known as the Really Stupid class." 4:14 - "The gist is that, after the events of Arena, Emperor Urethra Scrotum the 7th has called you over to his place in the middle of the night." 🤣🤣🤣
The most striking thing I remember from this game is that the very first dungeon was, at least for my 11 year old self, not just hard...it was BRUTAL HELL mode. At some point I randomly created a female assassin that could kill every single enemy with one dagger swing, so that balanced things out a bit. >:o)
daggerfall for me was all about the custom spell creation. then testing your new creations on the mobs. was endless fun.
I was playing the Baldur's Gate games when this game was available. I can't remember seeing this game on the shelves, or maybe the box was too busy/violent for me at the time. Too bad, it looks like it would have intrigued me.
9:40 uff Sprite babe ahead.
